"Statement of Faith"

THIS STATEMENT OF FAITH summarizes our beliefs. Our theology is not novel or innovative - these statements fall in the center of evangelical theology (“evangelical” means theology derived from the Evangel, or the Gospel; in other words, it is rooted in the Holy Scripture, the Bible). Thus, we confess with our fellow believers through the ages the historic statements of the church known as the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed.

We try not to be dogmatic about matters on which genuine followers of Jesus who base their beliefs on the Scripture have held divergent views. We want our core beliefs to be centered in Jesus and His message as found in and supported by the clearest passages of the biblical text. More obscure doctrine or teachings with less support are left to individuals to sort out on their own - we take no official position in these areas.

“Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; whoever who continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” 2 John 9
